Bedar

Bedar is a wonderful authentic Spanish village, situated in the foothills of the Cabrera Mountains
in the Sierra de Bedar, approximately 15 kilometres from the coast and the resorts of Mojacar and Garrucha.

The Andalusian village affords panoramic views to the surrounding landscape and mountain range, and wonderful examples of early rural architecture, which dates back to the Moorish occupation of the region.

Bedar is an excellent destination for those looking for a rural holiday, but still within easy reach of
the coast and all its amenities.

About town
The village of Bedar is equipped with good amenities and facilities, including a supermarket, shops, bars, restaurants, a post office, chemist and medical surgery.

The village is extremely picturesque; set on a steep hill, with narrow, cobbled streets and alleys, many of the village’s original cottages are still lived in.

The town is especially popular with artists and visitors who want to experience a taste of real Spain. The town’s way of life is very laid back and the locals are charming.

Natural surrounding
Bedar is set in a privileged location of real beauty and tranquillity. The area is perfect for those looking for a rural retreat, yet without complete isolation as you are only 15 kilometres from the coast.

Head up into the mountains and you can visit some of the ancient villages, with their pretty farmhouses. The area enjoyed many years of prosperity for its lead mining and still many of the
old homes and buildings exist.

Climate
Bedar is situated inland on the Costa Almeria, one of the driest and sunniest locations in Europe. The
region boasts clear, sunny days nearly all year round.

A quaint Spanish village with 3 super restaurants, a bakery, chemist, bank and supermarket.

Within 20 minutes you have a choice of many beachfront resorts, again authentic Spanish dining, superb beaches and a lively marina.

A very attractive and comfortable place with good facilities and amenities (see above). Not touristy!

We're not really seaside people, so can't really say. But those that are will find plenty of beaches and beach life, as well as some very quiet places to escape to.

Between Garrucha and Vera, Playa las Marinas-Bolaga, is a nice and not crowded beach with a good chiringuito "el jardin de la paella"

Bedar review

Fantastic bars and restaurants. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Excellent food and choice in the local restaurants. Lots of good walks or cycling available. Bikes can be hired in nearby Vera. Wonderful views of surrounding area.
