You will love everything about Mey Bee. The beautiful interiors make the most of the land and seascapes, and the gardens are unique and lovely - zen garden and private veg patch is a real treat.. Mey Bee is a gem of a cottage in the far north of Scotland enjoying views across rural Caithness and out to see to the Orkney Islands. The owner has done a marvellous job creating this peaceful, attractive cottage from what was once a ruin. Mey Bee is now a beautiful cottage and one that anyone staying in will wish they had more time in the place, it’s that lovely. You may wish to book for longer than you think, you’ll be pleased you did so. The setting is inspiring and calming. Set within an acre of wildflower meadow the cottage sits under the large Caithness skies because the landscape in the far north is relatively flat, meaning that the views are vast from the cottage. The cliffs of Hoy can be seen when clear and if the light is right The Old Man of Hoy can be made out. Dunnet Head rises above the surrounding landscape., and generally sea views are enjoyed out of most windows of Mey Bee - thankfully, the owner has created window seats to enjoy said views. Arriving at Mey Bee you’re immediately struck by the tranquillity of the place. It has a calmness which is epitomised not only by the wonderful surrounds but also the Zen garden to the rear of the property. Before going into the p...

Pod Beag Na Haun is idyllically situated on tidal Haun Bay with Island views to Ben Scrien and across the Sound to the hills of South Uist. Modern, cosy and equipped to excellent standards with a spacious, secured decking area it's Eriskay's first luxury pod. The friendly, peaceful, historic Isle of Eriskay renowned for the 1745 landing of Bonnie Prince Charlie, to reclaim the Scottish throne is marked by a simple cairn above the exceptional white sandy beach now named in his honour According to legend the Prince scattered convolvulus seeds as a symbolic gesture which appear, as if by magic, amongst the marram grass every July and August. The village beach at Baile, at low tide, is perfect for raking shelfish, an enjoyable pastime for many Islanders and visitors. The Island is well-served with its excellent community shop and the Politician Pub serving fresh local seafood daily caught by Island fishermen. The restaurant is now open all year round. It also has a famous connection. When the SS. Politician ran aground off the small Island of Calvay in 1941, the cargo of whisky was too precious to leave to the fish. The antics of the Islanders inspired the film Whisky Galore and a bottle or two of ‘Polly Whisky’ is proudly displayed in the bar. Leave your car at the door and traverse the whole Island easily on foot. Reach the top of Ben Scrien, an easy climb, and on your way view E...
