This cosy cortijo is situated between the villages of Busquistar and Trevelez and 25 km from the town of Orgiva. These self-catering cottages also locally known as casa rural are located in the heart of Las Alpujarras in the National Park in Sierra Nevada near Granada, Andalusia. The unique geographical location makes it ideal from the beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean to the south and the Alhambra in Granada to the north. This cortijo (one of 3) is ideally situated for a couple looking for a break from it all. It is self contained with its own bathroom, kitchen/sitting room and one double bedroom. It has its own private terrace with seating, bbq, hammock and stunning views. It is set in large gardens with a wide variety of fruit trees as well as grassed areas and guests are welcome to wander wherever they like. It is only a short walk from the swimming pool. The large pool is filled from a natural spring water stream. Please note that the swimming pool is shared between this cottage and 2 other detached cottages but you will hardly ever find other people by the pool as often guests spend a day at the beach or visiting Granada or hiking locally. The garden and grounds are extensive and guests are encouraged to wander freely and explore. This charming cottage has many wonderful Moorish features including flat stone ceilings and a bathroom which is a converted Moorish bread oven. The bathroom has both a shower and bath. There is a fireplace and 2 sofas in the sitting room with the kitchen at the far end with gas oven, fridge etc. There is also a small dining table and seats for 4 people. There are 2 bedrooms, one with 2 single beds and the other with a double bed. This bedroom also has its own mini terrace, totally private and only with access from the bedroom. This is one of three traditional Moorish cottages located on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada of Las Alupujarra in the heart of a National Park. The area has been designated an area of natural beauty by UNESCO. Guests at the three cottages have exclusive use of the 11x6m luxurious swimming pool, the perfect place to relax in the heat of the day. Walkers can enjoy free access to the National Park in all directions from the Cortijos (cottages).
