The second edition of the Spain-Holiday Rental Summit took place in Calpe, on the Costa Blanca, this week, with close to 100 agents and owners in attendance.
Our Spain-holiday team love networking, getting to know clients and sharing information. And what better way to do so, than by taking the team out of Malaga and on the road; visiting agents and owners in their local region. This week we were in Calpe, for the second edition of our Spain-Holiday Rental Summit. The first summit took place last October in Mijas, Andalucia.
The event took place in the AR Diamante Hotel in Calpe. Organised by Spain-holiday.com with the collaboration of regional association Aptur (Asociación de Apartamentos Turísticos de Costa Blanca). The main event on the agenda was the round table on holiday rentals regulations in Valencia. A hot topic, since the Comunitat Valenciana have just made it obligatory to register all properties.
The morning kicked off with a welcome from Spain-Holiday’s Chief Operating Office, Jannich Friis Petersen, followed by the round table discussion on on the amendments to holiday rentals regulations in the Valencian Community. Guest speaker, Miguel Ángel Sotillos, the president of Aptur, took owners and agents through the implications and procedures of registering their holiday rental. The discussion throughout the morning was interactive and animated.
The round table was followed by a workshop from Valencian photographer, Tomas Escriva, covering the value of good photography for holiday rentals. Finally, our own support manager, Helena De Vlieger talked about the very real issue of phishing and how to improve security and stay vigilant. She summed up the session with an introduction to the new communication system due to be rolled out soon.
The meeting closed with a prize draw, where one lucky agent and owner won a free year's advertisement on Spain-holiday.com; followed by a cocktail reception with drinks, tapas and networking. The feedback from the event was extremely positive. From each session we are gaining valuable knowledge about what our clients need from us and how we can help improve their business and bookings.
