A native Californian, Justine first came to Spain as a student in Salamanca. There, she had her first taste of Spanish ham and hated it. She later moved to sunny Seville, where she met her husband. Since 2008, Justine's lived in Barcelona as a freelance writer and spends her time raising her two kids, photographing the city, and now enjoying platefuls of Spanish ham.
