The sandy beach is about 200 metres in length by 20 metres of coarse, dark sand.
Playa El Salón is mainly frequented by Spanish families.
The only way to access the beach is by foot. The nearest parking, is the underground paid parking near the town hall.
The access down to the beach itself is fairly easy to miss and is via a small street (Calle Salón) that runs parallel to the Toboso building. The road zigzags its way down a steep hill, eventually falling onto the beach.
Amenities
There are no bars or restaurants on Playa El Salón. At the time of writing there was a kiosk that sells refreshments and not much else. There are, however, showers, toilets, a lifeguard and a place to rent sunbeds.
Walking back up the hill would give you loads more choice.
The old fisherman’s house on the beach makes an exceptionally beautiful backdrop, as do a couple of the houses on the road leading down to the beach.
