The Andalusian-style holiday flat for 2-4 people is located in Faragüit, one of the three white Guajar villages. You enter El Sol from the cool patio and find yourself in the kitchen and dining area. The whole house is very tastefully and authentically furnished. The furniture and all the woodwork in the house are carpenter-made, the floors are made of clay tiles from a local factory, the ceilings all have wooden beams and most of the reeds that we cut ourselves down by the river. The reeds were bound with handmade esparto. All the windows have mosquito nets. The kitchen is fully equipped and decorated in blue, the cosy dining area then changes to peach. A wide and bright staircase leads up to the pleasant living area, where again lots of natural stone, clay, wood and the colour peach contribute to the rustic ambience. Between 2003 and 2006, we bought a total of 3 ruins and eventually turned them into the holiday home La Cueva in Guajar Faragüit. When we had everything ready to rebuild, it seemed too big for just one house, so we turned it into two, La Estrella and El Sol, two beautiful holiday homes that share the grounds. The renovation work was very difficult, as no construction machinery can get into this narrow lane, so we had to do everything by hand. The result is really great and our neighbours are also very proud of us and are delighted with our success as tenants! In spring 2007, the regional TV station "Canal Sur" called and asked if they could film the house - of course they could! We then had to go to the studio in Malaga, together with several other neighbours of the valley, for a live breakfast show, where the valley of Los Guajares was presented, with us as a holiday home. A nice compliment! When we come into the patio with our guests from the street, we usually hear a loud "Ahhh" or "Schööön"! Everything is done in Moorish style with mostly local materials and pleasant colours, surrounded by lots of plants! Both houses are accessible from the shady patio, outside we have also made 2 separate seating areas where you can have breakfast, for example, from the patio a few steps lead to the pool, which we have placed in a grotto where the pigs, chickens and rabbits used to "live"!...
